Lake Chamo,is one of Ethiopia’s largest lakes located in the Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People region of Ethiopia and about 32 kilometers long and 13 kilometers wide. Its surroundings are characterized by savannah and are known for their rich wildlife. This unique ecosystem is dwindling and dying for different reasons from unsustainable farming practices, deforestation, inadequate coordination of development actors, and erosion of productive soil from the upper catchment which results in deposition of silt in the lake.

To solve this challenge at hand, creatives and innovativers from all walks of life are called upon to come together for four days in Arba Minch to understand the root problem and come up with innovative solutions. Several groups or individuals can participate in this event and compete in teams and teams with the best ideas and prototypes will receive awards and the opportunity to turn their ideas into reality.
